The SuperNet is at Risk.
Over 250,000 Albertans, along with 3,500 schools, hospitals, libraries, businesses, and government offices could be left disconnected.
More than a decade ago, Axia and the Government of Alberta partnered together to create Alberta's SuperNet – a reliable, fibre network that connects urban centres and rural Albertans with each other and the world.
As of today, the government has not yet decided to continue with an open SuperNet. With a looming contract end date of June 30th, 2018, we are concerned that all the benefits of an open, competitive network in Alberta could be lost for 250,000 rural Albertans as well as 3,500 schools, hospitals, libraries, businesses, municipalities and other key government services.
Stories from Albertans
The great thing about an open network is the ability to choose whatever service you like.
